This will more than likely be set up as cultural trips to mainland China for Hong Kong students.  It will be fun for the children who will be traveling with their classmates and sightseeing.  Just enough of the “love of the motherland” and a government promoted itinerary mixed in with “brainwashing” to influence the children politically later as adults.  Children are currently taking sightseeing trips starting in Primary school to such places as Taiwan, Macao and Thailand – so it will only seem natural.  The difference is that government money will be involved for a political purpose. Parents in reality will have little say as to participation of their own children as the children are pressured by the school and teachers to attend over a school holiday and it will be told to the parents and children it is mandatory but the parent can write a letter to the school to opt out with reasons given as to why the child is not attending. This is happening now in local schools with the full knowledge and consent of the Education Bureau.- As I see it a human right violation on several fronts.
